You are the solution – help those who help themselves.

Calendar Sales
We have plans to sell a fourteen-month calendar (November 2005 through December 2006). Each page of the calendar would present the story of a person who has gone from homelessness to reaching goals set with the help of the Training Center and are now back on their feet.

The Diamond Card
This is a credit card-sized discount card. Cardholders would be entitled to discounts pledged by stores. Money from the sale of the Diamond Cards goes to the Homeless Coalition.

Do you know of a business that would like to participate in this project? If so, please phone Marie Modesitt at 422-2241 or 485-5953.

A house is being purchased at 1419 Lynn Street, Parkersburg, WV, to become the PACH Training Center. The next step will be to remodel the facility to become a functional training center. Plans for the first floor are to have low dividers to separate the areas for a computer station, a library, a conference room, an office, a sitting room for relaxing, a kitchenette, and a play corner for children who may occasionally come in. The Center will be open seven days a week, 8 AM to 4 PM. The homeless would sleep at the Salvation Army. Other possibilities for the Training Center include creating classrooms and using the garage as a Thrift Store (which is needed in the area).

Would you like to help in some way? Needs include money, labor and materials. Please put the word out among your family, friends, and businesses to see if anyone would like to participate in some way. Simonton Windows will donate the windows needed for the project. The immediate need is for volunteers to do the construction work in getting the rooms ready to be furnished.

Individuals, groups or businesses are also invited to participate in “Adopt a Room,” providing items for an entire room. Items needed to furnish rooms on the first floor include tables, chairs, sofas, computers, kitchen appliances, a washer, a dryer, etc. Upstairs, needed items include twin beds, bedding, dressers, carpet, etc. Appreciation for room completion will be expressed by placing a brass plaque on the door of that room.

What is a Blog?

Blog -- (weB LOG)

A blog is basically a journal that is available on the web. The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog.

Postings on a blog are almost always arranged in chronological order with the most recent additions featured most prominently.

It is common for blogs to be available as RSS feeds.
